The City of Coronado
The town of Bernalillo was founded in 1695 by Don Diego de Vargas, a Spanish Governor sent by the King of Spain.
While the town’s population amounts to less than 10,000, Bernalillo remains rich with culture and New Mexican history.
Route 66, one of the oldest historical trails in the country, goes directly through the town. The town is surrounded by nearby cities; Albuquerque, Placitas and Rio Rancho.
